INNER PROTEST
Staged photography, 2025

ABOUT THE WORK
Inner Protest is a staged photographic work exploring the tension between fear, resistance and the performance of protest. Imagery developed through Collages of Reality is transformed into protest boards and placed within a demonstration that never actually occurred.
Bathed in red light, the figure moves between exhaustion and confrontation, while protective clothing becomes both a means of survival and a symbol of resistance. By deliberately constructing and photographing the protest, the work questions how activism is experienced through images and how acts of defiance can become mediated, curated and performed for an audience.
